Oak Grove School District #68

Did you know that Oak Grove School will be under construction again this summer?  This year, the school district received $50,000 from the ISBE in a matching grant program called the School Maintenance Program Grant (SMPG FY23 - Round 1).  The district will use these funds to remodel the kitchen which includes demolition of a staff bathroom, creation of a dishwasher station with tray pass through, demolition and replacement of cabinets, and upgrading the kitchen hood.  Additionally, the district received  $50,000 from the ISBE through the National School Lunch Program (NSLP) to replace aging equipment within the kitchen space. The equipment grant will be used to replace freezers, purchase a new dishwasher, two new warming tables, and partial assistance for the new kitchen hood. Construction is set to take place as soon as students leave for the summer and we can't wait to show off our renovated space in August of 2023.
